Default locked my keys in the car

i locked my keys in my Neon today. i dont have a spare key because im too stupid to go and get one made.

a guy on another forum told me to call the police department. all the locksmiths in my area are closed and i tried breaking in with a wire hanger through the top of the window and also tried to pick the lock but nothing worked.

any ideas?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think of is to pull your engine & tranny then cut a big hole in your firewall+dash and just climb in through the engine bay. You might have enough room for a V6 after these mods, & you'll be able to get your keys. No thanks needed, here to help.

when using a coat hanger to get into the car instead of trying to catch the lock, try to catch the door handle.....i had to do it this way a few times....but i straightened the hanger, then used a key ring and unbent it a little to make it into an S shape....hook the hey ring to the end of the hanger and go for the handle.....

another easy way to do it is to pull off the outter weather stripping from the top of the door by the bottom of the window.....from there you can see the inside lock mechanism......bend a hook at the end of the hanger and reach down in there.....hook opening facing the rear of the car.....it shouldnt take too long to grab the rod that hooks to the door lock

thanks for the advice guys. before i even read the replies i got it unlocked. just a few minutes ago.

i took a square (the triangles used for making angle cuts) and put it in between my window and the rest of the car so i could wedge it out a little. then i took apart a caulk gun and used the rod's angled tip to pull the lock up.

thanks for the fast replies though guys. i really appreciate it.

heh I know when I had an 87 accord, any accord key from that generation would work, youd have to fiddle with it for a little bit, but you could always get it to unlock or start up the car

Default RE: locked my keys in the car

i've locked the keys in my neon 3 times

i'm a pro at getting it out
hahahah

all i did was puledl the window towards
then got one of my friends with really skinny arms
they put their arm through
and pulled up hte little lock

one time we used a branch
which was a lot easy hahaha

and all you do is roll the window down then up and it's back to normal!
atleast for me...

the key for my father-in-laws 92 dakota works in the wifes old jeep, her moms old jeep, my dakota, the neons, and my durango.....the key is just so worn down that it unlocks all older chrysler cars

To protect our vehicles from getting boosted, perhaps we should redact this thread...
