I am having the exact same problem with the exact same vehicle.
Have you the thin cable wire below the gear that operates the door?
It seems that this cable changes orientation as the door turns to latch perhaps signaling the motor to turn off. It could be that the motor is simply turning off to soon. It seems unlikely to be a bad electrical wire as the problem is not intermitent or effected by moving the wire.Hopfully I will have time to explore this weekend

No, haven't gone further with it. Except that at first, it closed automatically, but now it stopped doing that as well. It stops at the same point, whether opening or closing. Keep us posted on your progress.
