My vehicle is a 2006 Magnum R/T, fully factory loaded. I've had two major malfunctions since driving it off the lot. First, because of a bad tranny filler tube gasket, the tranny wound up with two teaspoons of water. Water and tranny fluid don't mix well together. I had a high speed failure on an extremely busy interstate, I-680. While passing a slower moving vehicle, my RPMs increased while the speed indicator decreased. Second problem is with the UConnect. The first time it failed, I was told, because of the cell phone charger. I accepted that, but after 1500 miles it failed once again except this time there was no phone charger involved. My initial thought was a short and a blown fuse. After doing some research on the internet, I ran across an article on the IOD fuse. Sure enough, after re-setting, my UConnect Bluetooth is back in business. Now I just need for the tech specialist to figure out what is causing the problem. When all said and done, I find my Magnum to be as much, if not more, fun to drive than my old '81 4-speed Corvette !!!! Cowabunga, hodads !!!! [sm=smiley33.gif]

Sorry to hear about the Magie issues.

I assume the tranny has been taken care of via the TSB on that issue.

The "pairng" issue w/uconnect is something abnormal. The blame for a lost paircan't beplaced on a cell charger. I have yet to seea lost a pairing on mine. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of that issue.

BTW I haven't heard of theIOD fuse (sound like the BSD - blue screen of death ). What was that "article on the IOD fuse" about?

This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Hands Free Module (HFM) module. Symptom/Condition:
The Hands Free Module (HFM) fails to operate causing the UConnect Hands Free
Communications system to not respond when system activation is attempted by the
customer. Further diagnosis may reveal that when the StarSCAN® scan tool is used to
read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) the tool indicates that the module is not
responding. Other modules on the bus may display loss of communication with the HFM. If
the Hands Free Communication system is unresponsive then the HFM may require
electronic reset. Diagnosis:
Attempt to reset (power reset) the HFM as follows: 1. With the ignition switch in the “Off� position, remove the “Ignition Off Draw� (IOD) fuse and wait 10 seconds. 2. Install the IOD fuse. 3. Turn the ignition to the “On� position (engine not running). 4. After the module is reset, press the “Phone Button� on the rear view mirror to activate
the UConnect Hands Free system and to verify proper system operation (Fig. 1). Did
the UConnect Hands Free system reset and now operates properly?
a. Yes >> Perform Repair Procedure.
b. No >> This bulletin does not apply. Further diagnosis is required. Continue
diagnosis as needed using the existing diagnostic procedures available in
TechCONNECT under: Service Info, 8 - Electrical, Navigation/Telecommunication,
Diagnosis & Testing. NOTE: Do NOT replace the mirror for the above conditio

 

Oh, there's a TSB on the issue Thanks for posting the TSBup, others w/the same issue will have thisinformation.I've been lucky and haven't had this issue.

So the IOD is the Ignition Off Draw fuse. I sure hate to admit it but at times I'm DCX acronym challenged.

FYI... If anyonehas this issue and attempts the Diagnosis: in the TSB, the IOD fuseis number 1located in the rear power distribution center fuse box.

 

Thanks for the uconnect help, I just got a nextel w/bluetooth, went to set-it up and no voice. I thought about taking it in, but decided to check the forum first and found this posting. I pulled the IOD fuse and all is working good now.Thanks again

 

Man I had the same problem with my 05 dodge magnum factory system. I pulled the IOD fuse and waited 15 seconds and reinstalled it (I had to pry out on the tabs on the side of fuse to reinstall. everything works again! Thanks for the info I believe this just saved me from an expensive trip to the stealership.
