Default O2 Sensor bad without check Engine light?

Hey, I am getting around 14mpg city driving with my 2002 4X4 V6 auto Dakota. I have no check engine light on. Recently my transmission modules fried and the dealer replaced them so the truck runs great. I don't drive excessively aggressive and rarely go offroad. The truck has 45K miles and I am wondering if perhaps an O2 sensor malfunction is causing this less than par mileage.

Thanks

yea the 02 sensors are common to become crap and not throw a code.. i dont know why, you could go under there and pop them off, clean them with electrical contact cleaner, temporary fix versus the correct new ones which aren't cheap.. have fun

hahaha well I'm at 10MPG and less, so hopefully it'll go up to at least 13.
