What works for me is a large piece of carboard right behind the front grill in front of the radiator. Usually, I only cover 1/2 of the face area of the radiator core. This provides ample heat here in the Niagara Falls region I live in. Yes, the V6 3.9L B1500 heat isn't much to write about. The V8 5.2L B2500 has no problems with heat, or heating with the rear unit too!
