Default Frozen brake caliper-any way to fix?

Hey guys, I recently noticed a scrapping sound from passenger side of my neon.I figured my brakes needed replacing since its been a little while. To make a long story short, I found out that the drivers side caliper will not press in at all.I turned as hard as I can on the c-clamp and it will not go in any further. So the brakes on the drivers side with frozen caliper are still at over 75%, while the brakes on passenger side were completely wore out.
Im not a rich guy, and I just put money into 4 tires.Im wondering If there is any way I may be able to tear apart that caliper and get it working again. What would cause it to freeze like that anyway.?

Not for a neon, but this would give you an idea of what you would be doing...

Buy one from a parts store or look for a good used one from someone.

So, you guys are saying I should be able to pick up a whole caliper from an auto parts store.? I know a real good junkyard I can try also...If the auto parts store is gonna be expensive. Thanks for the advice, and that how-to, I may end up trying to repair myself, just to learn something.

Although I am not a fan of Autozone, they used to offer powder coated calipers online. But I don't think they do anymore.

This is one part of you car you do not want to take shortcuts on. Go and get yourself a good new or rebuilt unit when you can afford it.

Rebuilding it isn't a shortcut, but you do wanna know what you are doing. Most of the ones from the parts store are rebuilt anyways.

You see the problem is thatwe are surrounded by imbeciles who<_________> they know <______>stuff... The expert in the pub, the drag racer that <_________>, all know very little, but think otherwise...

Most of the stuff on<___> is pretty <____> and safe to do if you take care and<________> what you are doing and have at least half a <_________>.. All the information, and any parts, I may<____> or suggest you use, are <______________>/ suggested in genuinely <_______>good faith. They may be badly designed, they may be dangerous!
