Default From NV56 to G56?

Possible or not possible to convert from a NV5600 to a G5600? Just curious if I break my trans bad (possible hopefully doesn't happen) that I just go to the G56 instead of trying to find a NV5600. I would assume it's possible. Can't imagine too much changing. But I don't know hence the reason I ask.

What are you planning on doing that you might break the NV5600? Also, Drew mentioned in another thread that the NV5600 is more heavy duty (and heavy for that matter) then the G56, so if you plan on continuing to do whatever it is thatmight break the NV5600 then you might want to think about getting an all around different transmission (or upgrading in strength one one of the two you are mentioning).

not sure i would go through a nv5600. But Trying to find alternatives due to the main fact that I run alot of highway empty miles. So i want a lower running rpm. If i'm correct the g56 has lower gear ratio than the nv5600. By the time i eventually go through a nv5600. It's quite possible i'd already have a gear vendor on there. So the combination of the two would give me a nice long legs. I don't know. Thought I'd throw it out there. Plus if there comes a point and time that nv5600's come scarce and I do f up my transmission. Would be nice to have a safe alternative rather than look look look for a rare part that isn't available for a cheap price.

I thought someone said the NV5600 with4.10 gears was the same as the G56 with 3.73 gears.

I doubt you would ever 'break' an NV5600. . .I could see it from misuse, hot shifting, and incorrect fluid. keep good 5w30MTF in her, use the clutch when you shift and you wont have any problems.

besides, the G56 is a little shorter than the NV5600, so a new drive shaft or two would be needed.
