Default 6.7 diesel problems

We love Dodge trucks. I have an 04 5.7 Hemi- It's Great. Had an 05 5.7- was great. My boyfriend has 2 2007 Dodge a 3500 Dualy 5.7- Great, But just purchased a 6.7 Cummins Diesel 2500- I'ts a lemon. The first ever in our experience as Dodge Truck owners.
Purchased the truck in June of 07 and it has been to the service dept. 3 times. With the check engine light on and while it is on it consumes lots of diesel. The Service Dept. re-programmed the computer, etc on 8-9-07 since then the check engine light has turned on twice. Now on the overhead message board, I get a message that only 80% of engine capacity is working. In addition to wasting lots of diesel, it is a major incoveninence driving this vehicle to the service dept. while the service dept. is already overloaded and no to mentionloss of use for the vehicle.
With the excellent name that Dodge has kept in vehicle performance, maybe they will either recall the emmission problems which keeps causing this problem or do the right thing and not be like some of the other vehicles and be considered to sell lemons.

if it gets to the point where he's getting ready to trade it in. . .get him to find a 5.9L. while the 6.7's do show alot of promice, there are still alot of bugs to be worked out, the 5.9's have been, and will always be a good choice for reliability.

also no emissions BS. . .but I will also say there are a few here that have had zero issues from their truck. . .it is truly a gamble even when you have an engine that has the track record the ISB's have.

This is the very reason why I purchased my 2007 Dodge with the 5.9L in June of this year. I had to contact 65 dealers in the NEto find one to my liking.
The 5.9L is simplya great motor with long history of reliability.

2007 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7

Well, I have the same problem…but went to service four times…it’s in service now as I write this. Computer has been re-programmed and gas mileage also gets really poor when check engine light comes on. I’m about to claim “Lemon Law†on this truck. Also had an ABS problem. What a major disappointment. Nothing like spending 50K and having it in the shop 50% of the time. Don’t get me wrong….I love this truck but someone needs to get this problem fixed.
