Default 2004 Durango Water Leak.

Have a 2004 Durango limited. Have water leaking from front passenger pillar by the grab handle. This, eventually, after bringing it to the dealer the first time and they saying it should be OK, blew my amp out. Went back to dealer (not one I bought it from) who told me I had major water damage that probably started back when the car was new. They also told me I had to go back to where I bought it. Anyway I'm in between the 2 dealers and Chrysler corp. right now. Also my rear driver's door retains water between the door exterior and the inside panel. When I open the door after a heavy storm, its like a waterfall coming out..... Anyone else have this problem. Of course the dealer says they never heard of such a thing. B.S........Any suggestions appreciated////

Do you have a sun roof? The drain do get plugged or pinched. Causing a leak form the A-pillars.

Yes I have a sunroof thats had these drains cleared out twice by a dealer. Problem reoccurs when heavy rain hits. Last time blew out my amp.

That sucks.....I wish I had some advice for you. I've never heard of that issue before. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find out.

Well with the drains cleared I ran a hose over the front passenger side for about 25 min or so. There was a slight leak coning from the grab handle. (The circular cut outs for the mounting screws). Nothing made it to the floor, especially near the amp. I have a used amp I bought on ebay on the way because dealer wanted 400.00. Neither dealer feels they should fix the problem and no word from the Dodge rep I called last week////// This sucks..

I have a 2005 Durango and am having the same issues. Guess I'll look to see where the drain plugs are for the sunroof.

On my '06 Limited we had the same water problem. Turned out, when you looked at the truck from above (standing on my deck was the perfect way to see it) the gap at the top of the passenger's door was extremely wider than the gap on the drivers door. Paid a local shop 50 bucks and it was fixed. They just had to align the door which got the seal tight and stopped the leak completely.

Not a bad trade off in the end when you think about what is over on the right side of the truck, computer, airbag, amps, heater box and so on and so on. Alot of things to protect from water over there.

Good luck with it.

im having the same problem with my 04 Durango, its leaking on the passenger side and there is a bigger gap on the passenger side than the drivers side. Im also having problems with the heat up front its like it take a lot of driving for it to turn on but the heat in the back works great. Anyone else having these heat problems
