Default Avenger Headlights

I own a 97 Avenger and my headlight lenses are all dirty on the inside. Do the headlights lenses come off to be able to clean them?? At night, I can hardly see because they are that dirty.

The lense does not come off you will need to buy new ones either from dodge or 3rd party. I just replaced mine.

I recently fixed a problem w/my headlights. The outside of the lights looked like they had been sandblasted after 8 years of driving. Basically, get 1000, 1500, possibly 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and rubbing compound. Wet sand the entire surface of the light starting w/the 1000 grit and going up. I cleaned the lights between each new paper. When you get done, use the rubbing compound as a final touch.

Hey man if i were you I would probably try to find the headlights from a third party because if you go and try to get them at dodge, they will charge you an arm and a leg. Brand new headlights cost around $800 for the set. I would check at some junk yards or maybe even ebay! Whatever you do don't buy them straight from Dodge!!

if you want a tutorial thing on how to take them apart so you can get the lens off let me know or wait until around february 2007 and get a new set from racinglab.com i bought mine from there but the order was cancelled because they are currently outa stock and its about $260 for the set and about $300 total with shipping. a few people on ASEC have used this site and they said there legit so try them in about a month or look around tis not hard to find new headlights on google

I'd probably enjoy that tutorial because I have the same problem with my 98 model. It seems my headlights were cracked above it where the hood covers it so you wouldnt notice, and condensation has left it with some kind of wierd calcium/lime/moldy lookin junk on the inside. :P

Wait, nevermind. I poured some water across the light to see if it was outside and it looked clearer when the water went across it so i guess that means its on the outside. :P

yup, that sandpaper and rubbing compound did the trick! although its not crystal clear, its still alot better than it was starting out. I'm gonna try to find this stuff at walmart to make ur headlights clearer to get it even better.
