Default Top Speed

Whats the fastest you guys gone in your cars? I got a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT 5-speed and had a long stretch of road in front of me around 1 A.M. that was empty so i pushed it. Around 110 it felt like it hit a wall. It was still accelerating but sooo slowly. I have a intake and exhaust so i figured it would be better on the top. It wouldnt go past 113-114. Whats up?

I hit just over 120 when my fun got cut off. It was pulling good at that speed to, still was in 4th gear[sm=smiley4.gif]...so I don't know why yours had a problem at 110. I have no doubt in my mind that it would of hit 130 or more easily if the governor wouldn't of stopped me.

I have no prob hitting 120. Hell most of the time i drive around 100 on the interstate but before you all call me crazy, when was the last time you were in SC, Columbia for that matter.

I have hit around 120 in mine and it was still pullin. Try using 4th. 5th gear is useless, unless you want gas mileage.

There is no way to just take the govener off, you have to replace the pcm with a performance one.

I have hit around 115 before I backed down. The governor is in the computer? The computer that Howell has (AFX computer) says it will increase the top speed. It says it is unlimited! Squee has the computer and he said he was hitting crazy speeds with his reg Neon. It's not even an RT. I thought he said he hit like 145 mph or something. My next major mod is going to be the AFX computer SOHC (Street).

The fifth gear is useless if you are trying to max out though.[:'(]

Squee; do you have the street version of the computer or the race?
