Default Question of the Week 2014 Jeep Cherokee Love It or Kill It With Fire?

What do you think about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee? It has a bold new design that has proven to be less than popular with some critics but what does the DF nation think?

Looks like an suv built for city life, not an offroad machine like jeeps are supposed to be. Won't judge it until we can see how well it performs of the road.

I think the new front looks awesome, but I hate the rest. It looks like more of a crossover than a SUV. Out of the factory it comes with options of two "crossover-ish" weak engines and low ground clearance as well. The 2014 Grand Cherokee is much more of a SUV with more ground clearance and the much bigger engines. Me thinks if they put this front on the Grand Cherokee it would be badass.

I do like the new body style and it handles great, But the price is a bit much for the avg joe. I can't see spending 50 to 60k for a vehicle. When I could buy a charger for 20 to 25k.

not a fan at all. Way too busy up front. What's up with the 3 tiers of lights? The pointy grill isn't my style, except on the new chargers nor are the long skinny headlights. The rear reminds me of a Hyundai tuscon. Maybe I'm being too harsh. I'll take the grand Cherokee.

It's hideous. I don't like it. One of the ugliest vehicles ever made, bad move by Chrysler. There's being different, and being stupid with the design. Whoever signed off on this should be fired, as well as whoever drew it. And anyone else that thought this was a good idea.

Now, from the front tires back is good. I think it's going to be a good vehicle, sounds like it does just fine off road. But that frontend is awful, just awful. Makes a Pontiac Aztek look good, and that says it all.

why didnt they just simply bring back the XJ as it was? They had a winner there and they had to go and kill it. Cherokee and GC are now the same vehicle it appears from the doors back; except for front clip. why have same brand with 2 models so close to being the same?

that about sums it up they ruined another classic nameplate just like they did with the "Charger by adding extra doors only worse.

It doesn't have that Jeep look to it anymore... Kinda looks like they are trying to make it more of a crossover then the SUV it is... I'm on the fence I don't hate it but I wouldn't buy one either

Three pairs of lights add three confusing sight lines, why copy the Nissan Juke?

Whole package screams of a Jeep Compass with Cancer-ious over growth.

Middle set of lights scream Chevy Avalanch mixed in with Pontiac Asteck.

Are the vents actually on the hood? God that's awful.

Otherwise, I hope Chrysler sells a enough of them to stay out of bankruptcy... again...

Doesn't look any worse than the other 50 so called SUV models out there. I would never buy one but that's because I already have a 'lifted wagon' (Jeep Patriot) to pick up the groceries and kids from school. I guess I don't really hate it or like it for that matter, but the reason I picked the Patriot was for the round lights and box like styling similar to the much older Cherokees, so this one would have been a pass for me.
