That would be awesome if Jeep made a truck out of the Wrangler. A compact Jeep truck with a SFA would be killer! Jeep needs to axe the Patriot, and the Compass. Leave those models for Chrysler, and leave my real Jeeps alone. They need to get rid of the Liberty and bring back the Cherokee.

Oh damn, guess I should start paying more attention. I haven't paid much attention to the Chrysler news lately.

Yuppies do NOT belong in Jeeps.
There's plenty of BMW and Merc CUV's for them to drive.

Funny you mention BMW and Mercury. That ugly @ss GC looks like they're copying the BMW in the side view and the Mercury in the grille. I also think this will hurt Chrysler. Jeeps should never copy anyone. Make a Jeep look like a Jeep. Course, I don't think there's been a "real" Jeep since the Grand Wagoneer was killed in 89. My 77 Wagoner with a 401 and Quadra Trac was a great vehicle-and scary fast. My favorite Jeep was my 71 J 20 with a 360. When you put that thing in emergency low (it was the switch in the glove box), you could climb anything.

That GC isn't ugly to me.

Actually Midnight, I agree. Ugly is too strong a word. It just doesn't look like a Jeep to me. I can't think of any other midsize SUV's that look better, but it just doesn't look "right" to me.

Maybe a little too "futuristic"? I dunno.

I think he meant Mercedes by Merc but good point nonetheless. Thats why I drive a TJ. The last true Jeep IMHO

The new GC is going to have an awesome suspension and I can't wait to get one. It will be a perfect next vehicle for the wife. It lowers like 1.5" for easier exit/entrance, lowers .6" on the highway for better aerodynamics and mpg, and can be raised up to 3.0" for offroading. It will also have snow, sand, mud and other 4x4 modes. Not to mention the quieter cabin, HID lights, and tons of other cool gadgets plus nicer interior materials. I bet it will be just as capable if not more capable than any other stock GC before it.

Btw, Truck Trend has a decent article on it.
