Is that real that the Fiat bought a part of the Dodge? Dodge is a registered trademark of the Chrysler Group LLC. Why would the Chrysler sell the Dodge. I think this is a crap joke...

Fiat just owns 30% of Chrysler.... least thats what I've heard... and then the government (yay, arg) 20% and i don't remember who owns the rest anymore.
At least we arent being funded by the federal governement like "Obama Motors."
they didnt wanna sell a percentage to FIAT, but they really had to with the current recession and the government taxing the hell otta new cars.
Reason being that if you can afford a new car, you can afford to give your government more money.
>_>
Owner(s)
UAW VEBA (67.69%)
Fiat S.p.A. (20%)
United States (9.85%)
Canada (2.46%)
Fiat will initially own a minority 20% stake of Chrysler Group LLC with the option of taking additional equity up to a 35% stake if certain operational and capitalization goals are achieved. The United Auto Workers’ union retiree health care trust fund (Volunteer Employee Benefit Association) will be the majority owner, with 55 percent when Fiat reaches its target holding of 35%. The U.S. and Canadian governments will initially hold minority stakes of 8% and 2%, respectively, of the new Chrysler.
Thanks for this detailed information on the ownership interests. I knew that the U.S. and Canadian governments will initially hold minority stakes of the new Chrysler, but I didn't know the percentages of their minority stakes. You mention that Fiat will initially own a minority 20% stake with the option of taking additional equity up to a 35% stake "if certain operational and capitalization goals are achieved." It will be interesting to see if Fiat eventually increases its equity position.
eeehhh... better than obama owning it I suppose... or I guess it's almost the same since obama and the union scratch either others asses haha
I believe they own a non-voting stake, they don't have anywhere near as much control as the numbers lead you to believe (thankfully). Considering that ever since killing the Neon and the introduction of the new Sebring/Avenger Chrysler has proved they can't handle making decent small/midsize cars Fiat may not be such a bad thing...
