Premium gas cheaper than intermediate
Just wanting to share a weird situation with the price of gas. Last Thursday, I put premium gas (91 octane) instead of intermediate (89 octane) because the promotionnal price was cheaper. In fact, some gas stations here (Quebec City, Qc) have a price policy giving up a rebate of 3ยข per liter on Premium gas every Thursday. So, as the normal prices were 0,977$/liter for the Regular, 1,017 $ for the Intermediate and 1,037$ for the Premium (yes, it's very expensive !), the promotionnal price of the Premium came down to 1,007$/liter. That's 0,01$ cheaper than Intermediate ! My choice was easy to make: Premium please !
I will measure the differences in efficiency and mpg (or liters/100km) in the next few days and if the results are significant (as I expect), I will try to always gas on Thursdays if possible. Do you have that kind of promotion elsewhere in Canada ?
