Default 1971 Twin Turbo Challenger

I work at a turbo shop and we are currently turbocharging my boss' 1971 Dodge Challenger. I thought some of you may be interested in seeing our progress. It's a 318Ci with 2 Garrett GT3076R turbos. We are close to completion as you can see. Next we are going to get new wheels interior etc.. to dress up the car. Hope you guys like it. Let me know if you have any questions. Here is a Link to our website as well: http://www.blouchturbo.com/projects/challenger

That is sweet as hell, thanks for posting it!!! Why use a 318 though, a 360 would have been far better in every way or was it just to try and prove that a 318 can be built up.

We used the 318 because that is the motor that was in the car to begin with. It will work on any small block Dodge or Chrysler. Eventually, we hope to swap the motor after we blow this one.

why would u blow it up i think a 318 is more than enough when twin turboing considering that most imports run 2 litre motors and some have pulled 500hp like the evo 8 and imprezas around u have a 5.2 in it almost 3 times the size should be able to pull a thousand u can even use 360 heads or swirlports 2.02 1.60 can be installed on both and no matter the size the mopar small block seems to be limited to flat top pistons only and there are manufacters of rods cranks and stroker kits(donno why u would use one) i plan on doing a twin turbo set up only im going to use 2 16g mitsu turbos instead

Show me a stock internal 318 pushing 1000HP, even 750HP and I will be impressed.

i never meant to say a stock internal 318 but even a 360 couldnt run a thousand with stock internals.i also never said the 4 bangers dont mod theres. i was simply stating u can do the same things toa 318 has the 360 dont need the larger displacement when running turbo. that 1000 bucks or so finding a fresh 360 could be more easliy spent in the motor of that 318 such has a set of pistons rods and perhaps a crank can all be had for about a grand if u do ur home work(maybe not for pushing more than a thousand horsepower) but if he goes 360 why not magnum or how about 440 maybe 426 hemi. seems to me everyone forgets the most important thing when buying parts money. if u want more displacement get a stroker kit speedomotive makes them there stronger than stock 360 internals and about the same price has a good 360 long block. if u need a 360 because u want rpm than talk to them and destroke it get u to wind that motor up.

That's very cool!! I eventually plan on installing twin-turbos on my 340. I've seen a '72 'Cuda with a twin-turboed V-10 w/Viper heads as well as one with a twin-turboed 416 (stroker 340). Very cool!!!!
