Exclamation Oil Gauge Issue

Hello, I just got a 1998 Avenger sport from my aunt. She never had any major problems with it. Just recently I got the oil changed and the oil gauge is acting crazy. When I accelerate the pressure increases and when I brake it decreases. I'm not sure whats going on. I do my best to treat my cars like gold. I love my car and do all regular mateinance (oil change, tire rotation, air filter, ect.) Mind you I am a girl and dont know all that much about cars. I would like to know whats going on with my car and if its anything to worry about. (my dad says that it isnt).. I NEVER let it get too high before I brake and it goes down I am just worried about that ONE day when it does get too high. Can some of you car buffs help me out and let this single mama know whats up with her car? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Default

oil pressure tends to increase at acceleration as the pump is rpm dependant , thus braking will lower the pressure as well /// The type of oil also helps magnify this
