Default popping/knocking noise

IN the last two days on our little road trip, i noticed on our caliber, a knocking or popping noise. It only does it when the wheel is turned and you accelerate. And it seemed more so when the wheel is turned to the left. I am going to give the dealer a call in a few hours when they open and see if i can get it in. It's still under warranty, so as far as i'm concerned, its dodges problem. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and or if any ideas as to what the issue is. thanks

There is a TSB for possible loose bolts.

Here is the TSB
DODGE / CALIBER 2008-2009
DODGE / CALIBER AWD 2008
JEEP / PATRIOT 2009
JEEP / PATRIOT 4X4 2008-2009
JEEP / PATRIOT FWD 2008-2009
Service Bulletin Number : RRT-08-070
NHTSA Item Number : 10026829
Summary Description :
CHRYSLER: LOWER CONTROL ARM TO CROSSMEMBER MOUNTING BOLTS. VEHICLES WERE SHIPPED WITH FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM TO CROSSMEMBER MOUNTING BOLTS THAT MAY NOT BE TIGHTENED TO SPECIFICATION. *PE

Our 09 makes this noise but only when it is below 20 degrees outside and only for about a mile or two until whatever it is warms up.

I had this kind of problem on my honda model accord.

It turnes out to be cv gators. However if this occurs when heat/ temperatur is an issue I would check the bolts on the manifold. sometimes they get overtightend in the factory and pop.

Yup! they fixed it and it rides much better. Had it repaired and had the tires rotated and the lojack installed, after almost a year!

Good deal. Was it the recall in question?
