Default 2000 Caravan guage problem

I have a 2000 Caravan and i am having problems with the guages dropping. the speedometer and temp guages will be up where they are supposed to be abd all of a sudden drop down to 0. nothing else happens. its been like that for a while now. its gotten a little worse though. it usually pops up and down while im driving but gettin to where they arerarely up. it gets frustrating when you have a cop behind you. ive noticed if i tap the brake it will make them pop back up. also in the past month or so ive noticed that when they are down it hasstopped counting my mileage. it is just gettin worse the longer i leave it like that. doesnt anyone else have this problem and could you please tell me whats making it do that? thank you!!!
