A/C - 2000 Dodge GC - Not blowing cold...
I have a 2000 Grand Caravan with the 3.8L automatic trans. The A/C is not blowing cold air. The compressor does engage when the system is turned on but I'm getting this hissing sound from under the dash and in the back of the van when the air is turned on. I checked the refrigerant level and it was fine. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for all your help,
Dan

RE: A/C - 2000 Dodge GC - Not blowing cold...
With the AC running(for a bit) feel (carefully) the input and output tubes at the AC pump. The output tube should be too hot to hold comfortably and the inlet hose should be cold. It should be cold enough to fog up in humid weather. If you find this to be the case, the problem is not the Freon fill but in the air control system.

The lines can get cold and hot with 1 lb in them as so long as the compressor is turning on so that is not a correct way of seeing how much freeon is in the system. Just for your reference u should be getting on a warm day say 80 to 90 outside and about ooo 50 to 80 humidity the low side should be 30 to 45 and high side should be 25o to 300 is that what u are getting ?? sence u do not have a machine that will check the fill for ya?
