Default Hello and Help!!! Charging system questions

I have spent well over 300.00 today alone on a battery, alternator, new cables and ice tea drinks.....Last night my car just died on the HW lucky i got a jump for some guy driving by. After jumping the car and letting it idle for a few minutes igave it the alternator test and took off the battery terminals.... the van died. Well to make a long story short both my old alternator and battery checked out. So my questions is after i changed the battery wires what else could be the problem? Is there a alternator or battery fuse somewhere?
thanks for any help
