Default RE: stals in gear

There are a couple of possibilites. One is that the idle air motor is not bumping up the engine speed--that may be due to it not working or carbon build up blocking the port on the intake plenum. The other possibility is a locked up torque convertor clutch which is a much nastier issue. If you are in neutral and turn on the A/C system, does the idle speed go down, up, or stay about where it was? That may give an indication if the idle air system is working.

You might try upping the idle a bit with the throttle pedal (not too much) and put it in gear--if it still stalls, I'd guess the convertor clutch.

Your torque converter is locking up causing the engine to stall out.
