transmission noise when backing up

Default transmission noise when backing up

when even i first start up my caravan and shift into reverse and give the van some gas it sounds as if the engine and tranny mounts are loose. does anyone one else have this problem?

I don't know what year your van is and how many miles are on it, but I've seen many of these with the engine mounts totally disintegrated or unbonded. There are most likely four of them. The right and left hold the weight of the engine, and the front and rear control the torque reaction. I suspect that the front and/or rear mounts need to be replaced.
