Default 2000 GC Sport HVAC problem

GC has the 3.3L Flex Fuel engine.

The problem is that the air conditioning is not very cold sometimes. Also a couple of times it appears the air condidtioning compressor was running but the blend doors were in the wrong position. Checked the pressures and they were fine but added some r134 anyway. Ran the cool down calibration cycle and the air blend door calibration. Both end with the recirculation and A/C lights flashing alternately. Any idea what is wrong and how I can fix it?

If the lights flash after a calibration cycle, it means that the system failed the cycle--at that point you need to go into diagnostics to see if a door is sticking or an actuator may be bad. I suspect it is in the mode doors, not the refigerant loop.

I do not have any answers to your problem (Sorry.) just questions.

You refer to a calibration cycle. What is it? How does one do it? Does it apply to a 97 Caravan?

Thakns in advance for your response.
