i've installed new struts, mounts, strut links and was told the ball joints were fine. still, lots of clunking from the front end. i'm quite sure everything is tight...
i'm tempted to blame the struts or mounts....
any suggestions?
TIA,

i put in remanned driveshafts at the same time. the remanned PS d/shaft was crap - took it back and put in another one. still have some vibration on accel so buying a new shaft this time.
clunking is coming from both sides...
200,000 kms
so you could be right - will know re PS CV once i change in the new one.
TIA,

Does it make the sound pulling into a driveway? Or just driving on bumpy road.

i'd have to say i notice it the most when driving on rough roads, or any road where there is an irregularity in the surface ie small bump, small depression.
it sounds like the ball joint noise on my Saab 900. the sway bar bushings on these cars never wear out, so i never suspected the van's bushings...
i appreciate your interest and look forward to any suggestions.

well i'lll be go to hell! replacing the sway bar bushings solved the clunking, even tho they didnt look worn! put in some very affordable new poly Moog bushings and wow! new front end...
i also put in a NEW ps driveshaft after mucking with 2 remanned shafts both causing vibration on accel and cruising.
thanks again for the suggestion - on my Saab 900's the swb's never wear and never cause clunking so i would never have thought..
