rough down shift after transmission flush
My 2002 4-cyl Carvan with a 4-sp transmission started to down shift roughly between 25 and 20 mph. I can feel and hear two successive "clunks" while slowing down to a stop. The rough downshift wasn't there until I took it in to have the transmission flushed, filter and pan gasket replaced. They put in Pennzoil "Multi Vehicle ATF". The shop manager said that it's probably caused by dirt dislodged by the flush. Any suggestions out there?

RE: rough down shift after transmission flush
Ok, I found the solution to my rough shifting problem. It turned out that when they flushed the transmission, air got into the line causing the transmission computer to get confused. I had a mechanic "relearned" the computer and it is now shifting nice and smooth just like before the flush. I had a transmission shop offer to rebuild the transmission for me for a "cheap" $1,600. They didn't even check the computer to make sure that it was not acting up.
