Default Caravan engines

I have a delivery service and am looking at either a '91 2.5L fuel inj. 4cyl. with auto/trans or a '93 f.i. 3.3L v6 with auto/trans to haul about 1500 lbs. in the cargo area, city driving, 30 minutes at each stop. I wanted to know what you thought themost reliableengine would be for this application. Thanks Stan (904)388-2628. stanhyde@hotmail.com

1500 lbs seems alot that's 3/4 ton you might want to get a full size van that may last you longer but anyway I think I would opt for the 3.0 v6 but the only bad thing about the 3.0 is they tend to start smoking as thevalve seals go in them quickly but they run good and for a long time we have 2 caravans with them in it and a Lebaron one had over 200K mikes on it and was still running with no major problems except the valve seals which cost $12 to fix and an afternoon of putting them in

i agree.. if those are your options.. i would opt for the 6 cyl vs the 4.. but a bigger van might be your best bet.. that is alot of weight to be pulling around consistantly

btw.. if you do use the 3.0 .. make sure to upgrade the brakes.. the 6 cyl will be sure to pull it.. but you need something to stop it too

Don't get either.

Get one with a 3.3L V6. Plenty o' power there.
