Default Please help me shop around for/identify a 4wd or AWD 3g Caravan

I am trying to get a 96-98 Caravan 4wd or AWD.

I am having a tough time determining whether or not each van I look at on craigslist just happens to be a 4wd or awd.

Could someone please let me know how I canPOSITIVELY identify one without driving hours to go look at it?

Thanks!

In addition, I was just wondering if there are any particular issues with these AWD/4x4 platforms? (I have heard bad things about the trannies in general during these years)

Caravan's are either front wheel drive or all wheel drive. Look at the back of the liftgate and will show AWD or not. Also most AWD come with a 3.8 liter engine. You also can look under the van and see if it has a drive shaft going to the rear diff.

Thank you for your time.

Is there any trim that didn't have awd or 4wd? What about sister vehicles e.g. voyager, town and country, etc?

That way I can weed out the adds that it wasn't an option on.

Also, what would it say on the liftgate if it was 4wd as opposed to AWD? Which side of the liftgate would it be on?

I need more information. I know I can check the driveshaft etc because I have an Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo .

It's just that I am at least 50 miles from the closest one!!

Thanks!!
