Default Code 32 on 98 Caravan

Code 32 showed up yesterday on my daughters 98 Caravan,"Shorted or open circuit in EGR circuit". Can I assume it's the EGR valve and just replace it? Before I do that I will also be replacing the temp sensor, since it reads cold 90% of the time.

Thanks for the help!

Karl

Yep, it's very common. It's probably just the solenoid and not the actual valve (although they do carbon up sometimes). When they go bad a lot of times it causes the computer to make a rich fuel mixture and they stall alot when you let off the gas.

Would the temp sensor have anything to do with the code, since it is tied into the emissions system? I've replaced the temp sensor and will remove the codes to see if it pops up again.
