2008 VES and Sirius

I have an SXT with the N package. Besides the typical MyGIG issues (radio turning up all of the way on its own, not starting up or dim screen for a minute) I have another issue with the VES system. Everything works but the Sirius radio capability. We can hear the radio, but cannot view or change the stations. All we get is the updating channels message. My radio has 9.556. Will updating to the newer version correct this or do I need to take the van in?
