Default transmission problems

I have a 2000 dodge caravan. I have replaced the trans. shift solenoid because it would stall out when I came to a stop. That problem went away. Now it doesn't seem to downshift when it should. It may take 2-3 blocks before it does and sometimes it does it when it should. It also seems to do better as the day goes on. Does that make sense?. The trans. was flushed and new fluid put in about 8 months ago. Color looks good. It just doesn't feel right (the shifting). I have 102,000. miles on it. Could the wrong kind of fluid cause this problem? Don't know if the wrong fluid was put in, just guessing. The guy who did the solenoid switch seems to think I need a new trans. Any idea's.

Default RE: transmission problems

Do you have a 3 speed trans? If so the governor is sticking, causing the trans not to downshift or upshift. If it a 4 speed, then you will have codes in the TCM.
