Default Is it easy to install a rear end in a Caravan?

I am looking at converting a caravan to an evehicle but need to power the rear wheels. What would be ideal is if I could find an AWD grand caravan (or look alike) from the early 90's. I have not seen many of those so I want to know how feasible plan B is, to install a rear end in a GC. I have heard that the earlier 2 generations of Caravans were easier to make mods on - the K car chassis. Which years would be easiest? I would also need some kind of pto on the transmission to drive a generator in the middle or rear of the car.
