Default transmission whine

I have a 96 Caravan with~197k on it. The transmission whines in all gear positons (PRNDL) at ~1500 RPM or more as soon as it warms up (~45 seconds of summer driving). It upshifts and downshifts ok. The fluid is full and clean with no signs of contamination. The fluid and filter was changed ~10k ago. Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so, what was the cure? Does anyone have any ideas where to start? What signs or symptoms does the torque converter give just before going out?

Thanks for any information.

It sounds like it could be the side gears in the tranny. I would just leave for now and see if it get worse

Does this whine even in park at an idle? If it does, could be a needle bearing behine the front pump. Or if while you are driving could be transfer gears or wheel bearings.

Wink

Whines in park when revved. You can't hear it at idle or while coasting (low RPMs).

Sounds like your problem is somewhere other than your trans.

Look into the belt,pulley's,p/s system,etc
