Hi,
I have 2000 Dodge Caravan SE 3.0 litre engine.
Couple of days ago while driving, van suddenly felt like it was choking. I could press the gas paddle and could hear the engine rpms going up, but the car would not move. Hooked up a OBD read and found P0700 codes (check engine light was on). Took it in for transmission oil and filter change, remove the battery neg terminal to clear codes.
Turned the iginition on as soon as the engine started check engine light came on and scanned P0700 again. Now the car still kind of chokes at times and also when I start the car and try to do a full turn it dies. I have to wait a minute or so after starting the car to make a full turn like coming out of the driveway.
Any suggestions? before I take it to a mechanic?
Thanks in advance

You'll need to go into the TCM and get the stored codes. If you have either a input or output speed sensor code, replace the sensor.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I cleared the codes last night (using a ELMScan OBDII reader and software). Drove the car for a while then got on the freeway, as I was getting on the on ramp, I felt the car jerk or drop speed, check engine light came on and the car did not seem like it was changing gears, I think it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear.
Scanned the codes again and got P0700 and P0755.
Any further comments and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I am having the same or simular problem, the tranny was replaced 10 months ago.
The problem starts when the speedo starts bouncing at low speeds and then you when you come to a stop the speedo sits at 20 mph. went to the tranny shop that swapped it 10 months ago and they replaced the input and output sensor and changed the fluid and same problem.
P0755 is a 2/4 pressure code, it could a solenoid pack or a wiring problem. I would replace the solenoid pack 1st and reck.

Hi Everyone,
Thankyou all for your responses. I finally took the van to the dealership, they ofcourse scanned the car themselves and replaced the 2-4 solenoid pack. $550.00 but atleast now the car is usable. They also replaced CLKSPRING as part of the recall (this was free of charge).
Again thankyou all, appreciate your input and time
