I'm new to the site and need a little help. I borrowed a friends scanner to hook into my van and get the codes. The above are what I found. Searching the web for answers has done nothing more then irritate me. Since I am a member of a forum related to fish keeping I figured a forum on Dodge grand caravans would be the answer!

Here is what I'm trying to figure out. The above codes reference a Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch, or at least they did on the scanner, I can't find this part anywhere. I found a control solenoid and a gear position sensor. I also read that the computer may need to be reprogrammed. What direction should I go in? I would like to get some information so I don't get railroaded with the "you must have one of our fine rebuilt transmissions or your van will never run again" speach.

I'm not a mechanic but can do most basic repairs, breaks hoses things like that. I'm hoping this is something I can replace myself.

Thanks for any and all help you can offer!!!

Has there been a transmission service on this vehicle since you have owned it?

No there has not been.

This is a recent problem that has developed.

When the van is cold it wont go into to drive, after it has warmed up it will. It downshifts really hard from 3rd to 2nd (I think). Other then that it runs fine. This doesn't always happen either. Some days it works perfectly with no issues.

You need to have someone hook up a drb3 and preform a clutch test, on reverse and 2nd gear.P0736 is reverse and P0732 is 2nd. And post back your finding.

Any recommendations on where I can get that done? Would autozone or pepboys or a place like that have the equipment to do this test?

Somebody might want to jump on that, you're not going to see one that cheap again.

I would buy it but I don't plan to ever buy a dodge again. I have a friend that is a mechanic and works for Toyota maybe he knows someone that has that scanner. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info so far!!
