Default 2000 grand caravan se problem

I have 352,000km on this vehicle. It is hesitating/backfiring on acceleration. It will stall if I don't release the gas pedal. The engine light is not on. I have had this intermittantly over the last few weeks so I don't think it is fuel releated.
The vehicle will also revert to normal for a few days, before acting up again.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Is the engine misfiring? Ck the map/baro sensor and temp sensor. And ck fuel pressure too.

The engine continues to run smoothly. It is when you put a load on the engine that it hesitates and backfires.

The mechanic tells me it is now running fine and he cannot replicate the problem. Because it is an intermittent problem he "suspects" it is related to the fuel pump (which was recently replaced and is still under warranty)

Thanks
