Question 2001 Grand Caravan DTC code P0740

Hi, I'm new to this game and wondered if anyone out there has any experience with OBD2 trouble codes; specifically P0740. I know that it means "torque converter clutch circuit malfunction or circuit open." I just don't know if that means taking the transmission apart or is there just a sensor or electrical problem which can be fixed without major transmission work? Any info would be appreciated.
