Default Transmission Cooler Needed?

Hello,
I plan on towing a 2800lb travel trailer with my 2009 Caravan. I was told by the dealer where I bought my trailer that I do not need to put a tranny cooler in my van because on the new vans the hose from the tranny to the rad on is big enough to keep the tranny cool.

Can anyone confirm this?

I was told if the hose is 3/8 in size its big enough?

Thanks

Dean

You need a cooler. the hoses don't have any impact on the performance of the cooler in the radiator. My 97 has 3/8" hoses too. The problem is that the rediator cooler is too small for even hard driving without towing. Heat is the worst enemy of an automatic transmission. I put one on my van and I don't tow.

So I called the Dealership to schedule getting a tranny cooler installed...and I was told that they looked up my VIN and my van already HAS a tranny cooler.
I have a 2009 25th Anny edition Caravan....

How can I confirm this?
What would a guy look for to tell if he has a Tranny Cooler or not??

Thanks

Dean

Look for an extra radiator, but much smaller. Either way, the question to ask is never do I need a trans cooler. A trans cooler can never hurt, towing or not. So if you don't have one, get one, regardless.

If it has the tow package, it already has heavy duty cooling. Did it come with a factory hitch? If so, no extra cooler needed.
