Question HID Kit install question

My friend has a 1999 Dodge Caravan and wants HID's installed. She has complained about the terrible light output from the stock bulbs while driving up country roads to her cottage.

I have experience installing HID's in numerous cars, however I am inquiring about people here that have installed HID's in this generation of Caravan.

Specifically, I am wondering about flickering issues with the day-time-running-lights and the HID kit.

1. Did the HID's work directly by plug-and-play or was some wiring required to avoid flickering issues?
2. Did the HID kit have a 'dual' bulb design, meaning one-HID-bulb and one-standard hi-lo bulb? I have seen those kits and am thinking that this is what is needed.

Thank you in advance!
