Hello, have a question about the air pressure sensors in a 2008 caravan. Went to get tire repaired and the person said i need to purchase a repair kit for thr stem assembly. It included a o-ring, nut and valve core. Does this sound correct or was it another way to get more money for the tire repair.

If he removed the stem, then you have to replace the O ring seal. There's a special torque wrench to reinstall the TPMS sensor and it requires a new seal to get to the proper torque.

But if all they did was remove the core to let the air out, repair the tire. No the stem does not need to be replaced.
