Default 03 GCS 3.3L Power steering / crankshaft woes

Ok long story short, a rod bearing went MIA... Replacing crank, all parts out down to PS pump for removal of timing chain cover. Now pump is unbolted (3 bolts thru pulley), backside bracket removed... part is loose. The (heavily self sensored) thing will not go over the mounting bracket... do I really have to disconnet the lines to get it over this aluminum mount so I can get the chain cover out of the bay?
got a new crank with matching bearings from Advanced.
Been a long night in the garage, too tired to think, please forgive my rough post... going to bed
Thanks for any help
Dennis
