Default Need help badly!

Hi everyone, I'm in desperate need of help.. I have a 98 caravan with the 2.4l motor in it. The rear main seal went bad so we took the tranny out and replaced it. When we put the tranny back in and went to start the van there was a loud screech, similar to the sound a starter makes if your still cranking it when the motor was running. After a few minutes we tried it again the van started with no noise and idles fine now. But the problem now is the tranny won't shift. When you cycle through the gears theres nothing there. Also when we go to shift it you don't have to put your foot on the brake. It will just go by hand. When the van is in park you can still spin the CV shafts so it's like the van is not locking into park either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you have the crank sensor out. If you did, then it may not adjusted right and is hiting the flex plate.
