Default 96 caravan squeek is driving me bonkers! help!

(sorry i meant 98 on the title of the post)
hey guys!

i got a 98 caravan se, started to hear a little squeak coming from the serpentine belt (i think)... it looped around the alternator, my dad told me to spray it with belt lubricant made for that stuff... i bought some that said it was made to lubricate serpentine belts, followed the instructions and now it is worse... it squeak almost immediately after application. I thought it would go away after i would drive it a bit but it doesnt. When i spray it, it gets quiet for like half a minute and gets loud again. The squeak before was only noticeable if you were going slow, but now on highways its squeaking really loud, and its gets louder with acceleration, foot off the gas it isnt so bad, but foot on gas its squeeking like a dieing chipmunk. i hope it isnt anything serious!!!

help guys

thanks a bunch!!!

Do you have 3.0L or 3.3/3.8L? Does make a difference, because there many TSB's for fan belt problems.
