Angry 92 Caravan headlights come on when engine is off

The headlights on my van come on at random while it is just sitting in the driveway. I was told I may have a bad BCM but I don't know how to test it or if there even is a way to test it. What else could possibly cause the headlights to come on at random? I was also told there was a headlight relay near the fuse box inside the vehicle. Is there a way to test this relay if that is the problem? Please help.

There's plenty of ways to approach fixing this problem. start with documenting the exact moment this happens... is the car running or not, how long was is running when it happened. are there any critters or kids in the car, is the switch fully off and not sticky from spilling soda, you can easily test a relay with a multimeter and a power source, but that's not going to even be close to your problem. you were told that you have a bad BCM. You could also be told you have a bad headlight switch, wiring problem, or several other things. Using a wiring diagram would be greatly helpful.

Hi brian
You may want to remove the headlamp switch and ck your power and grounds. The switch maybe sticking on the contacts. You can try a new switch before a bcm.
