Unhappy 2002 Caravan Ignition Switch/Wiper Problem

I have a 2002 Grand Caravan with an ignition switch problem. About 2 years ago, it started to fail in the rain. When the switch was in the "run" position, the wipers, radio and heat would not work. If you put the switch into the "battery" position, the radio and wipers came back on. I had my mechanic replace the switch and the problem went away.

Well, the problem is back. I can have the switch replaced again but I am wondering if there is a better long-term solution than having the switch repeatedly replaced? We've had 2 days of constant rain, once the car dries out I suspect the problem will go away as it has in the past but obviously, a car whose wipers only fail in the rain is a problem...

Thanks!

Welcome to DF
If the weather is some how causing your problem with the ignition, you need to have the problem isolated. This way you have a starting point to fix the problem.
