RE: 200,000 Mile Club
My dad has a 1996 Dodge Caravan and it has 275,205 miles on it and it has a 3.8. I have a 1990 Dodge caravan with 83,000 miles on it and with a 3.0L and I was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong with my transmission because it gets stuck in 2nd gear and wont come out and also if anyone knows why it smokes, I have noticed it on a lot of them 3.0L Mitsubishi motors.

approaching 240 K
1996 G caravan-3.3 SE
the motor ticks over like a kitten, and the transmission id doing quite well ( unknown if it has been replaced, or worked on, or is orignal) I am the 3rd owner.
I do have an issue with it now that is keeping me from driving it right now, but doesnt sound like anything major...just perplexing.

1994 Dodge B250 van ,the Beast
Well have had running issues for awhile the shaking and not quite running right. Had a local shop look at it and they couldnt figure it out they replaced a couple sensors and unpluged a relay. Well that wasnt the problem I got the guy down the street to look at it and he found what was wrong in about an hour. The computer was wooped so now a new computer and she runs again with all the power it ever had. But at 346k it drinks oil and water but runs great. Havent touched the engine been starters radiators, alternators. Replaced the trans at 150k . The van has been a great truck. I have only owned mopars started with a valiant and now just bought a Ramcharger along with the van. Ram tough Mopar forever.

2004 Grand Caravan SE
With 253K+ miles. Over the years it has asked for some mounts, a radiator and some fiddling with electrical for the ABS. Total expenses at mechanic: less than $900. Has new inspection sticker for 2 years starting this past August. Best vehicle we've ever had. The front end noise (alternator raw raw raw raw) used to worry me, once I found what it was it doesn't.

first van 2000 caravan went 350 000 before the strut towers looked so bad I had to take it off the road engine still ran good but used oil after 200 000 I started using a thicker oil and it slowed oil consumption down to 1 quart a month. Second was a 2003 Caravan it made it to 250 000 and could go more but their is too much wrong with it to fix it so I will scrap it. I have another 2003 with 150 000 on it. I expect it to go 250-350k I am not a huge Dodge fan at all but the Caravan and their Cummins powered pickups are good vehicles to keep around for a long time and rack up miles.
