Unhappy Hello All. HELP PLZ

Hi I am Beth and I own a 1998 Dodge Caravan and I was told to come to this site for some help. I am having issues with my factory alarm, I can no longer lock my van because of it. It will set at any given time causing me to disconnect the battery for a minimum of a half hour before I can get it started. I have tried the locking and unlocking junk and the only thing that works is disconnecting the battery. Is there any way to disconnect the alarm? PLEASE HELP

The only way to illiminate the alarm system from the vehicle is to replace both the PCM and the BCM at the same time. Then you have to remove the switches from the key cylinders so it doesn't reactivate. Do you have keyless entry fobs? Do they not shut off the alarm?

I had the same problem on my parents 1999 Town and Country. I fixed it by replacing the RKE module from a different van and used the corresponding key fobs. Now it never acts up like it did before.

An RKE module with corresponding key fob just might fix your problem. When the BCM (body module) sees RKE (remote keyless entry), it knows to turn off the theft alarm.
