Tizzy1, I am not sure what you mean by VIP and labor operation. I understand the F01 was the recall. the dealer checked the Chrysler website using my VIN and said that my van is not covered. Also, when I had the repairs done, I was still under the extended warranty and it didn't cost me anything.

Labor operation is the number we type in so the system knows the repair we are doing. VIP is the Chrysler data base we use, we enter your VIN number and the labor operation number and it tells us if the job in question is covered or not. I have had plenty of vehicles where the underbody lines were leaking and for some reason they were not involved in the F01 recall. I enter the labor op number for the recall and it comes up covered so we do it under warrenty.

After reading this post and many other post on AC's not working, I tried finding info on AC line recalls.
I did find info on the warranty extension for my 06 caravan evaporator, but nothing on the lines.
Is there a way, other than the dealer, to know what is covered or recalled for AC items on my van (before I go to the dealer)

It's an 06 grand with rear air & sto&go seats

Update:

Unwilling to pay $1350.00 to replace the Evaporator at Merchant's, I opted for a second opinion while visiting family in NYC. The mechanic told me that if the previous guys couldn't find a leak than it means that 9 out of 10 it is the evaporator. Cost to repair it: $850.00. I decided to go ahead and do it.
The repair guy called me about 15 minutes ago saying that there is a huge leak coming out of the condenser. cost to repair: $500.00.

I am apalled that the Merchant's mechanics told me they couldn't find a leak. I alomsot sank another $850.00 for something I didn't have to. On top of this, in August 2009, while the van was still under the warranty, the condenser was replaced. However, Chrysler offers only 1 year warranty on parts and labor.

I just wish I had a way to get back at both Merchant's and Dodge dealer service.

What ever you do....DON'T go back to Tire Kingdom. He is trying to jack you around!! I bet he knows what is wrong with the system and its an easy fix. But he wants to charge you the 1600 for removing the dash, etc.

And don't be getting all bitter on the dealer, good chance the condenser took a rock hit and put a hole in it. I don't care if I just did a condenser a week ago, you take a rock hit and it isn't warrenty. They do make a condenser guard to deflect the rocks for the '05. I always install one if it doesn't already have it.

Understand it being out of warranty. It just sucks. Also, there is a technical service bulletin for the 05 saying that the guard must be installed as well. I got this from the AllDataDIY website.
Aren't they supposed to install the guard anyway?

It was covered under the 3/36 warrenty so I would put them on when I did the F01 recall. But if one comes in with a bad condenser and doesn't have one, I sell it with the new condenser. The '06 and '07 came with them from the factory and you rarely see a blown condenser.

Default Leak at the o-rings on rear under body a/c lines

I can see the Freon and oil bubbling at the liquid line (smaller) joint on the underside behind the rear passenger side tire wheel. And yes I realize this is an old thread. The dealership is telling me that F01 doesn't apply , they are saying the o-ring is leaking not the line. I am not sure they have taken the connection apart yet. I will hear more in the morning. From what I have read corrosion under the o-ring is what is causing the leak and changing the o-ring wont fix the problem. I would appreciate any thoughts or comments. F01 was previously preformed in 2006 at 8000 miles (119,000 now). I am the original owner. Thank you in advance. Tim
