2002 caravan horn does not work
The horn on my 2002 dodge caravan stopped working. The horn does work when the panic alarm is pressed on the remote or I press the lock on the remote, the air bag light is NOT on. and the cruise control works. I would assume the clock spring is working fine, and I would assume the fuse and the relay is working fine. Does anyone have any thoughts as to my problem? Is the horn pad(button) on the steering wheel my issues? How do you check or change it?

Two things you could try, 1st find the horn a run a jumper wire to the plug and the other to B+ of the battery, just touch the plug and don't leave it on the plug. If the horn doesn't blow, then replace the horn. If it does blow, then remove the air bag module and you will see the ground wire for the horn pad.Note make sure the yellow connector to the air bag is disconnected. If the horn doesn't blow. I would say the problem is either the clockspring or the circuit. If it does blow....Horn pad.

Horn blows with RKE. I'd say the horn units are good. The Front Control Module (FCM) controls the only ground to the one and only horn relay in the fuse box (IPM). Wiring diagram doesn't show the RKE input to the horn circuit but probably safe to assume that since the horns work with RKE then the FCM is doing it's job. That leaves the horn switch, clockspring, and wiring from the horn switch to the clockspring and from the clockspring to the IPM/FCM. Before you do any maintenance near an airbag disconnect the battery, isolate the cables and wait 5 minutes. This will disarm the system. Otherwise you could have a really bad day.

if the RKE is able to sound the horn, don't waste you time seeing if the horn works, that's obvious.
yes the clock spring can go bad on just the horn circuit. I've had a variety of clock spring failures that only affected 1 of the circuits. how about removing the air bag and checking the horn wire. could be somethink like the contacts in the air bad are bad too.
