2012 caravan transmission fluid check
#13
Well, Santa came today. (He moonlights as a UPS driver in the off season)
I received the dipstick and it doesn't specify the Caravan, but it says it's for a 62TE automatic transmission. So I'm wondering if I have the right one.
Also, will a temp probe hooked to my DVOM give me an accurate enough reading on transmission temperature?

great info
Wow, thanks for the advice. I've been avoiding to pay $50 thru Chrysler for a freaking dip stick that should have been included when ppl paid $30k for a car.
for thegogetter222, you can use the Oil Dip stick to check the trans fluid level. Just wipe it clean, stick it into the trans dipstick tube until it bottoms out. Measure it from the bottom with a ruler. As long as the ATF level is between 40-60 mm, you will be ok.

To read 40 to 60 the engine temperature gauge should be in normal (car idling). In the middle, like any other car that has a dipstick?
